Mobile phlebotomy service: Our fee covers the convenience of having a qualified phlebotomy professional travel to your home or approved location to collect your specimens. This service fee is separate from the laboratory's charges.
Will My Insurance Cover the Mobile Blood Draw?
Insurance coverage varies by plan. Some insurance plans may cover laboratory testing while not covering the mobile blood-draw or travel fee.
At this time, please do not assume that your insurance will cover our mobile phlebotomy service. Unless we have specifically confirmed otherwise, clients are responsible for paying Illumination Mobile Phlebotomy LLC's service fee directly.
Our standard mobile blood-draw service starts at $75, with additional mileage or other applicable service fees disclosed before your appointment.
How the Process Works
Step 1: Obtain Your Lab Order
Your healthcare provider must supply a valid laboratory order before your appointment. Please have your lab requisition available so we can confirm the requested collection requirements.
Step 2: Contact Your Insurance Company or Laboratory
If you plan to use insurance for your laboratory testing, contact the laboratory or your insurance provider to ask whether the ordered tests are covered, whether the laboratory is in-network, and whether you may owe a deductible, copayment, or coinsurance.
Step 3: Schedule Your Mobile Blood Draw
Contact Illumination Mobile Phlebotomy LLC to schedule your appointment. We will discuss the service fee, service location, and any applicable travel charges before confirming your visit.
Step 4: Pay for Your Mobile Phlebotomy Service
Unless a different arrangement has been confirmed in advance, payment for our mobile collection service is made directly to Illumination Mobile Phlebotomy LLC. This fee is separate from any laboratory charges.
Step 5: Laboratory Processing and Billing
Your collected specimens are handled according to the applicable laboratory requirements. The laboratory or other responsible billing provider will determine how laboratory testing is billed and whether your insurance benefits apply.
